Although they seemed to have made it more new player accessible I actually think its worse for both new and experienced players.
They have made it very aggressive and attack focused. The correct strategy for a new player is to pick a character, learn a few of their best combos, then out ooga booga your oponent that has done the same.
You have no hope of learning all the combos of each character to defend against, where to duck, sidestep, block, counter, etc. As there are so many characters and so many combos.
I was rubbish at tekken 7 too but at least at that game I could practice my movement and defence as well as offence so that when I did win I felt like I deserved it. On tekken 8 even on the rare games I win I feel like I haven't deserved it, I'll exploit combos with lows in it etc and my opponent just wont catch on.
I'm also not a fan of how long the combos are, the wall carrying, juggling, 50/50 mix ups that take away control from the player for large periods of the round.
I think Tekken 7 had a lot of the problems I write about here but it feels like Tekken 8 has doubled down on them and made them worse.
